The studies also find that a steady supply of oxygen to the blood may be key in treating the virus. V; blood footage. Doctors offices have been flooded with the first doses of the vaccine being administered. V; vaccination footage. The nasal mist is the only vaccine available right now but injections should be available this week. > Karin McHugh of Collingswood is now bonding with her new son Liam. V; Karin and Liam McHugh. SB; McHugh, says she wants to hold her son close all the time. V: swine flu photo. I; McHugh, talking about her ordeal. In July McHugh was 9 months pregnant and developed flu like symptoms and had trouble breathing. The baby was delivered by an emergency c section. McHugh started crashing after the birth. McHugh was flown from a small hospital in South Jersey to the Hospital of the University of PA. She had one of the worst cases of the swine flu doctors had seen. Her lungs were incapacitated. I; doctor, says McHugh died twice in 1 night. I; Brian McHugh, husband, says he put the ordeal in gods hands. McHughs organs began to shut down and in despiration heart lung bypasse was used. Dr Scott Halperin says its unheard of to have a machine circulating oxyenated blood for almost a month. V; Dr Halperin. I; McHugh, says she beat the odds. Stephanie Stahl reporting. 00:16:58
