Joining the efforts to revitalize these two struggling neighborhoods are another twenty organizations as well as the city of Des Moines. The 67-foot Thrivent Builds Mobile, gives people an experience, of what it's like to live in substandard housing. This is all part of an effort to help people understand the need, and want to help. "It's like an awareness type of thing where folks can come in and see what our version of substandard homes is and then they see what Habitat is going to help folks." [CC] 00:24:14 An Owatonna family is one step closer to a new home. The Steele County chapter of Habitat For Humanity broke ground on its latest home Saturday morning. It will be sold to a mother and her 4 daughters. This summer Habitat will build that home and finish another they started last year. As housing prices rise, the chapter is seeing more demand for their homes... unlike many chapters in our area, the Steele County Habitat For Humanity isn't struggling for funds because they received a grant from Thrivent Financial and donations from area churches. But they're facing another challenge: they're having trouble finding lots to build more homes. As of Saturday, ground was broken on their last vacant lot. 00:27:14
